Reggie
A Millennial Depression Comedy
"Reggie" follows Mitch who, after yet another breakup, gets intervened on by his closest friends and steered towards therapy as an option to break his various self-sabotaging cycles. Battling his problems with communication, fear, depression, and anxiety Mitch reaches a breaking point and in a moment of impulsivity he adopts a miniature horse that has dwarfism and anxiety issues.
Reggie Reviews
"Walking in to you and Kiwi at the end of a red carpet, sitting in the theater listening to the pre-screening chatter from everyone about their anticipation and excitement, watching the first scene light up on the screen, viewing the credits and literally seeing the evidence of your heart and soul that you and your team poured onto the rolling screen, and listening to the Q+As about your “why” and “where to now” with the movie and honestly feeling the impact of your film in that room. I know that more people than just myself left the theater feeling like they watched more than a film... they walked the path towards healing during those last few hours, felt every raw emotion - shed tears, explored pain, laughed joyfully, and smiled hopefully. You have personally inspired me to start seeking therapy and focus on my own journey of healing. And beyond that I am SO VERY PROUD of you! For your vulnerability and the hope that you are sharing. I truly believe that the conclusion of the film is just the beginning of what is to come for you personally, for Reggie professionally, for every viewer who watches, and for those who Reggie is destined to reach with a message that we truly all need to hear and internalize and personalize."

“ From start to finish, Reggie: A Millennial Depression Comedy gently pulls the audience into Mitch’s world. I felt as if I was being vulnerably and exclusively invited into the story of someone who wouldn’t consider themselves an open-book and fears the idea of being on the same page with another lest they begin to read between the lines and notice the pages are imperfect. The struggle to find the path to mental health and comfortable connection is never a one-size fits all method. It is difficult enough to release from the stigma that surrounds therapy but the reality is, that is only the first step to taking control of your mental health and understanding your complicated cognitions and post-traumatic patterns.
Mitch’s journey is unique and humorous. Anyone will enjoy the shenanigans of a mini-horse coupled with a kickass soundtrack. It’s the combination we didn’t know we needed. Yet I think the power of Reggie comes from the way the characters interact with one another and, specifically, the way that Mitch interacts with himself. Human connection is key to a positive and productive mindset and for some, learning how to navigate, initiate, and maintain healthy relationships (even with oneself, let alone one's horse!) is much more daunting and difficult than the idea of having a mini-horse as a roommate in your apartment.
Reggie represents and explores a variety of personality types that don’t fall into the Hollywood tropes I’m familiar with but instead, tell a story of a community that is relatable in a realistic and unrestricted way. As a viewer, I can feel the small town angst and tugging apathy that permeates the millennial experience for myself and so many. I am both comforted and inspired by this story.
I am not exaggerating when I say, I laughed out loud, cried cathartically, and have carried this film with me ever since I went to the screening in the small city of Salisbury, in which it was filmed. I am excited to see the message of Reggie spread to cities all over the world and I am excited to meet more Reggie viewers who will inevitably receive the same feelings of mirth, acknowledgment, and hopefulness that I gained from digesting this beautiful film.”

"As a psychologist, I want to support Jacques mission to bring visibility to mental health problems and hope to those who suffer. While 1 in 5 of us have a mental health disorder, men, in particular, may delay treatment-seeking and are more likely to die by suicide than women, which positions Jacques as a much needed example. Jacques has introduced this film as semi-autobiographical, and I appreciate that this may take extra courage and vulnerability in a culture that hasn’t quite concluded that mental health is part of our overall health and routine medical care. I’m grateful to Jacques for his use of humor, hope, compassion and creative talents and for leveraging film for a wider reach to normalize mental health. No, absolutely, amazingly adorable tiny horses are not a routine part of mental health care. But let me still encourage anyone that may need it to follow Mitch’s lead (Jacques’ character) and seek evidence-based mental health care by talking with your primary physician, calling your insurance to find a list of mental health providers who take your insurance, or by visiting psychologytoday.com or the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy’s webpage for your local provider directory at https://www.abct.org. I look forward to seeing how Jacques and HafCaf Productions marry creative arts with advocacy in the future"

"I believe that Reggie A millennial Depression teaches a lot about mental health and that it is a real thing that people go through, it also shows that there are some options out there to get help if you are in need of some. I believe that it also shows that true friends are always there for you when you need them no matter what all you need to do is reach out to them and ask for help and dont be afraid to. Reggie was heartfelt, entertaining, funny, sad and serious. I would recommend this movie to any adult (16 and over) . All in all I believe that it got the point across about mental health"

"I found this group of young adults to be unbelievably talented and dedicated to the making of this film. Their understanding of the story they are telling and the character they play comes to light in each scene . As a retired nurse I am very pleased to see the subject of depression addressed in this funny, real and poignant way. It is a " must see" film for those who do not suffer depression ,for understanding ; ( see : projectsemicolon.com ) and affirmation for those who are depressed. In general you should see it to be entertained, to shed a tear and to have a laugh . NOW THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!!"

"Must watch! What’s funny about depression? That we can ALL relate to it. This is a very creative, sensitive, touching and funny film."

"My husband and I attended the premiere of The Reggie Film and I will honestly say, we were surprised. We’ve attended quite a few film festivals or seen “self-made” films and expected a certain quality. The Reggie Film was extremely well-made. The locations were great, the cast was phenomenal. We loved the writing - very sarcastic and quippy with laugh out loud moments but also serious ones that were heartfelt. We felt we could relate to different characters and were interested to know how it ended. The film had a great look and feel to it and really seemed like we were watching a summer blockbuster. It was a lovely story that lets us know it’s okay to struggle." ~Karin W.~
"Reggie is a great movie that shines a light on the subject of depression. I believe the movie was very relatable as a lot of us has had personal experience with some form of depression or know someone that has. Reggie was funny and entertaining, but also very real and honest. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie from start to finish". ~Melinda N.~
